ECHO, Incorporated Statement on Slavery and Human Trafficking
ECHO Incorporated (“ECHO Inc.”) is committed to preventing and reducing the risk that slavery and human trafficking are used at any step in the production of goods in California or elsewhere, including goods that ECHO Inc. imports into California. As a conscientious manufacturer doing business in California and pursuant to the California Transparency in Supply Chains Act of 2010, ECHO Inc. would like to make the following statement regarding its efforts to prevent slavery and human trafficking in its global supply chain.
Corporate Responsibility: ECHO Inc. recognizes its social responsibility as part of the global community in all regions in which it operates. ECHO Inc. respects the cultural, social, political, and legal diversity of societies and nations. Within the framework of the laws and regulations of individual countries and its scope of influence, we as a company strive to coordinate commercial goals with the social and environmental requirements in our business world, human rights, and the environment. These principles are an integral part of our corporate culture and apply throughout our company. All our employees are asked to ensure they are observed, and we expect our business partners to adhere to similar principles. This statement of the Principles of Social Responsibility of ECHO Inc. specifically mandates compliance with internationally proclaimed human rights and rejects any and all forms of slavery, and human trafficking
- ECHO Inc. strongly opposes slavery and human trafficking, and would never knowingly conduct business with contractors, employees of suppliers engaged in such practices..
- ECHO Inc. critically reviews and verifies its product supply chain on a regular basis to evaluate human trafficking and slavery risks. At present, this is done internally.
- ECHO Inc. conducts regular, thorough audits of its suppliers to evaluate manufacturing opportunities and also whether suppliers comply with applicable corporate standards and principles, including those related to human trafficking and slavery. These audits are scheduled and review all aspects of the supply chain including environment, safety, forced labor, human trafficking, child labor, and other legal requirements.
- ECHO Inc. purchasing policies require that our direct suppliers certify that materials incorporated into our products comply with the laws of the country or countries where such suppliers do business, including but not limiting to those addressing human trafficking and slavery. New supplier packets incorporate questions specifically addressing human trafficking with appropriate required certifications.
- ECHO Inc. incorporates into its regular training curriculum for employees and management alike modules directly relating to mitigating related risks in the supply chain as it relates to slavery and human trafficking.
- ECHO Inc. maintains internal accountability standards and procedures for employees or contractors failing to meet ECHO Inc.’s standards, including but not limited to, slavery and human trafficking.
